Running Poem by Samantha Collins

Running

it's the way your everything to me
when i want you to be nothing.
you hold more power to my life
that god himself.
i love you,
but your breaking me.
slowly and cruelly.
and you want me to act like it shouldn't matter,
like it shouldn't hurt
like it should mean nothing to me
when it defines me.
when i walk through the door
and smell that familiar smell, that i've grown to hate,
and hear the sounds that keep me up at night
i know that once again we're going down
and each time it keeps getting harder to get back up.

i wanna tell you how i feel
i wanna tell you what you do to me,
but i resist, and resist it
cause it's easier to run away
then to face my biggest fear, to the day.
