Running Poem by Nichole Flynn

Running

Rating: 5.0

This poem was not written by me. All rights belong to my really good Kevin Cruth.

I keep running and running
But running from nothing
I’m running from something
That something’s a dream
That dream is from me
But sometimes a dream
Is not what it seems
What I hoarded in greed
Was in truth the seed
Of the reason I bleed
Now I contemplate
Is this the reason I hate
Could it be fate?
I should have just left
But I sacrificed the rest
I tried to give my best
But I’m left with regret
For this I fought?
Now look what I got
She’d given up when I have not
Now my life’s on the line
But I think I’ll be fine
I have made up my mind
Better change for the time
That thing we call love
Said to come from above
Seems an unhealthy drug
And I’ve had enough
