Run Away Poem by Rose Falcone

Run Away

Rating: 5.0

I never thought at this stage of the game
I’d have only myself to blame
Have I not learned through the years
At what expense these tears

At this point in my life
Daughter, mother, wife
What’s it going to take
to ever catch a break?

I’d like to go away for good
Never return misunderstood
Leave my cares and woes behind
Nothing to keep me here entwined

I’d like to hide myself away
Somewhere peaceful my mind could stray
A warm and sunny place
A place to lend my mind some space

What to take my needs are few
Some books and a sarong or two
Some canvas and some paint
Some thatched shade so quaint

And perhaps a very large barrel of bourbon

We've all been there.....at some point...in our lives! Be well.
