Rollercoaster Poem by Nestor David Armas

Rollercoaster

Woke up and found you
Fell asleep and lost you,
Now I'm in a limbo
A nightmare,
Can't find the way out,
Can't pinch myself awake,
Everything is slow motion
Getting sucked down in the water
Wave after wave pummeling me,
I'm clawing at the sand
But I can't get a grip,
I let you slip
Away,
Not that I wanted to cage you
But I got used to your steps
That smile anticipating,
Banter in you laughter,
Now all is cloudy,
I miss the sun,
I miss you,
Uphill
Is all that awaits me,
Regret that I drove you away,
That's all that's left,
Rollercoaster closed
But I'm still sitting here
Sinking feeling in my gut
Anticipating the next loop with you
That will never come again...
