Rich Grounds Poem by Renee Marie

Rich Grounds

All in and spinning against the sharp blades, oils bleed out
but cling to the shredded beans.
With measured precision
and predetermined portions,
she adds boiling
water to bathe
last night
in a rich blend
of morning
promises.
