Restless Poem by Juan Olivarez

Restless

Restless, as the wind in the oak,
Restless, as the clouds in the sky,
Restless, as a red tailed hawk,
Restless, as a barn owls cry.

Restless, as a crickets chirp,
Restless, as a croaking toad.
Restless, as a young girl's smirk,
Restless, as a winding road.

Restless, as a mountain stream,
Restless, as the pounding surf,
Restless, as the moon lit beams,
Restless, as the wind swept turf.

Restless, days and more so nights,
Restless, hours dragging by,
Restless, as a soaring kite,
Restless in the endless sky.

Restless, forever on the move,
Restless, till my dying day,
Restless, like a horses hoofs,
Restless, to be on my way.

5/28/10 29 palms ca.
