'Reptiles' Poem by Kevin Wang

'Reptiles'

the slippery slithery animals
creeping their way on through
the cold blood that runs in the veins
as they seem to like rain

each one thought about
seems like the cousin of dragon somewhat
those extinguished flames
as their stomaches growls some more

like cats
they lay in the sun
as if tanning themselves like human beings
but reptiles grow too small or too big for cats

yet sometimes the other story of their lives
like always, like babies that we were
but cared for like that other friend
beloved animals to be cared for like the rest

but liking the slow footsteps
like descendants of the aged dispersed dinos
turtles to be feed and served greatly
with a spark of interest of them growing
while speaking the magic words
just let them grow
let them try
and just say esio trot!
