Renegade Poem by Stephanie Eve Kane Arado

Renegade

I’m a renegade
Of uncommon swagger
Independence, all that matters
The uncommon grandeur of my way
Settlin’ in on the high horse highway
Cold loner, now older and bolder
Not a joiner or idea combiner
Eyes freeze positive gestures
ending conversation
Slanty eyed cat diva
Romantic black isolated female
Profile etched and well chisled
I’m a renegade
And it don’t matter
That when I swagger
In isolation,
I lose the light of others gained through
collaboration
I never learn just build frustration
