Reminiscence Poem by Lauren Joy

Reminiscence

Days of old
Wandering feet
Naivety and innocence
Laughter and smiles
Smiles that burst
Three feet tall
Naive to it all
Glistening sunlight
Sparkling ripples
Deep blue lakes
Rivers that reach the sea
Glancing eyes
Eyes wide as saucers
Deep as canyons
Mind like a sponge
Absorbent and untouched
Hands small and soft
Open and expectant
Eyes shaded over
Flesh unscathed
Purity, cleanliness
Reminiscent of days past
