Remains Of The Day Poem by jade Slatyer

Remains Of The Day

Bringing new meaning

to the day of the dead

my brittle lover,

stone cold, I wed

Kiss me lover,

kiss me friend,

for I am with you till the end...

Once you thrived

before my eyes

now I watch you

slowly die...

Kiss my lips you loved so much

stroke my hair you sought to touch

feel the scars you have mended

whisper things that you pretended...

My words fall upon you

like a flesh eating bacteria

you've nothing left

but mass hysteria...

I wish a longing to go back

when our love was true

and so intact...

I miss your warmth

and witty charm

I'm left a skull

and boney arm...

Kiss me lover

kiss me deep

I'll love you alway

I forever keep...
