Relapse Endurance Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Relapse Endurance

You miss the life,
we'd made for eachother.
You miss the the soft touch,
only my fingertips provided.
The taste of my kiss,
the thing's I'd whisper to make you tremble.
The way I'd caress you.
You miss the night's we could lay naked in eachothers embrace,
and so easily forget everyone.
It wasn't a mistake,
it was love, is love.
My mind has created another reality,
a truth.
A year has passed me by,
time I'll never regain.
My hearts about to relapse,
explode in my chest.
Painting my ribs a beautiful ruby.
Each beat brings me closer,
to the echo of the last.
I couldn't not love you,
I could never forget.
But accept? Forgive?
I've had a change of heart.
The walls are soaring high,
and even you struggle to get through now.
I've spent days in bed,
crying to my content.
You came for me,
all I simply ask is why?
