Reflections Of A Life Poem by David Wood

Reflections Of A Life

Rating: 5.0

Every morning you come to me
Every morning I wait patiently for you
Shimmering in the light of the moon
You come with the dawn and look

I am the waters of life and you gaze
Through the ripples that come with the breeze
And I reflect your image. You look and stare.
You see wrinkles and laughter lines, then pout.

Then you take some of me home
Where I refresh your thirst and wash away
Those wrinkles and give you that freshness
Only a friend can give.

I can quench and ease the pain that disturbs you.
I am here to support you, to give that rest that is eternal
As you stare at your image and wonder
And deeply reflect on your life.
