Reconciled Poem by Peter Eliastam

Reconciled

Is this the goal of being? To be lost,
Forever worthless, and despite the cost
Of our redemption, damned to die unsaved,
Rejected for the way that Cain behaved?
While Cherubim with flaming swords, stand guard
To bar the way from Eden lost, toward
The entrance into Life in Paradise?
Did Jesus pay an insufficient price
For them to sheath their terrible turning
Armaments? God welcomes us, returning
By the blood of His profound atonement.
The worst our enemy has done, intent
On harm, though angels have not understood
The work of Christ, our Father wrought for good.
