Reality? Poem by Erica Brett

Reality?

Rating: 5.0

Look around you,
can you see
the strangeness of
Reality?

When the ears perceive
a snap from above
and the eyes turn to sky
where the flight of a dove
crosses paths with the flag
dancing alone in the wind,
but no breeze is there to dry the tear.

When words of beauty
speak of peace and light,
of a world with no meaning
for war and night,
and the author sits
and stares at a glass
wondering why half has disappeared.

When the wolf howls alone
to the silent snows
of endless years
and countless woes,
and the eyes sparkle bright
from the light of the sun
in the darkness of the celestial mirror.

For when the truth
is beyond the mind,
Dreams are true,
and life is blind.
