Another birthday
Where I wish myself
Hairs rapidly turn grey
Co loursnever create any permanent solution
After fifteen days again the grey appear on the scalp
Life is indeed a confusion
Years roll on at a very fast pace
Life is speeding to end its race
When another birthday arrive
Early morning at eight or nine receive an SMS from the bank to wish me upon
I thrive
At least bank has remembered and thought of wishing me
The SMS lit up my face with a smile
Yes for a while
I will be turning forty eightthis Eighth day of April
Yet like a childI feel
All that I had wished when in teens
Early morning my mother blessed me with a hug and a bowl of kheer rice
Father went up to the sweet shop to bring sweets for me
Friends came with the greetings card to see
Their new friend clad in a new dress
Now I pay the price
Of being alone in life
Although I thrive
Even after my parents have journeyed into the other world where no living being can reach
Nothing have helped me teach
To forget my birthday
As my inner me always wish to say
Rimni, happy birth day to you
Be happy what you do
Let all your friends again wish you at least with an SMS
To revive faintly the unforgotten or the memorable days
But life has entered a different phase
Now nobody pays
Heed to me to wish
Nothing to cherish
Love for me is not in this life
Yet with a smile I try to survive.
