Reaching Out Poem by David Boyce

Reaching Out

Reaching out

I reach out to touch your tender hand
But you're no longer there
At the end there was more pain than love
And you needed all the care

As your body was slowly shutting down
You told me things you had to mention
I knew you was in so much pain
And you needed my full attention

There was so much love around us
But I really didn't care
Because I knew you were dying
And you will no longer be there

My heart is still full of love
Memories we had together
I loved you then, I love you now
And I will love you, For ever
