Reaches An Age Poem by Eric Cockrell

Reaches An Age

Rating: 5.0

a man reaches an age,
and a time in his life...
when having worked, and fought,
having loved, and lost,
having gotten knocked down,
and gotten back up,
over and over, time and again...

a man reaches an age,
and a time in his life...
when he knows he's given more
than he had to give.
when suddenly he's just tired,
and worn to the bone...

a man reaches an age,
and a time in his life...
when he just wants to stop,
to look back, to just feel,
and see if somehow
he's still there!

but now the times have changed,
and there is no stopping,
no point of refuge,
no time to rest...
the battle looms, the lines are drawn,
and all a man can do....

is to keep walking!

Wow, this poem to me is the best poem i have ever read. I have been worn to the bone, but got back up. But as the poem says, all a man can do is to keep walking, thats whay i did, it was hard but i did it. Now things are going well, but i will never forget that bad time. And i will never forget this Amazing poem.
