Rainy Light Poem by Wenjun Liu

Rainy Light

Rating: 3.5

I looked up and into the sky
Expecting a sunny night,
Where cherry blossoms would sing
And twirl out their rosy din,
Where faeries together danced a reel
For once out of their guise for real.
But they just hushed in their waking dream
A boat tangled in the deep of wades.

I looked up and into the sky
Instead found I the rainy light.
Her far-away eyes and wispy voice
Her pale hands barely
Touching her modest gray dress.
A fading bluebell in a forgotten garden,
With her wet lips and her damp embrace woven.
Lost under her drooped lids
Soft be her gaze
Softer than a lover's kiss.
