Rainbow

rain comes unexpectedly
and i take shelter under a tree
looking around
for comfort in the cold
a bird sings
on a branch and
i listen to the notes
floating in the air
needles of rain
soft light arriving on the hills
a rainbow
bridging two feet
over there
i watch this beauty
i smile for a promise
that the Lord
has restated in my heart
