Rain Poem by Phil Soar

Rain

I tried to catch the raining but it's not stopping
Falling down like bombs from armored clouds
Crashing down on me for hours and hours
And the thunder that precedes it is so loud

I tried to stand beneath a tree for shelter
The wind caught me from every single side
I tried to look for somewhere else to run to
But as I ran it knocked me from my stride

I tried to blend in with the constant torrent
It sought me out wherever I lay down
And when it hit me with such force I wondered
How I could stop the rain from falling down
