Rain Poem by Kim Davies

Rain

Watching the rain
beating against the window,
I remember and shiver.
That sorrowful day
you went away,
Forever.

I remember your laugh,
the twinkle in your eye.
The warm feeling
whenever you were near.

I loved the rain.
Walking hand in hand
beneath the trees,
glistening droplets
dancing on your face.
The fresh, earthy notes
of damp soil and wet grass,
Vibrant, alive.
Delicious.

The rain mocks me now,
rattling the window,
shaking the ache.
Dull, heavy, lonely tears
splash onto the sill.
Drowning.
Drowning in pain.
