Quatern Poem For A Blue Mermaid Poem by Marieta Maglas

Quatern Poem For A Blue Mermaid

Rating: 5.0

In the Red Sea, you were my lonely king of salt,
You were my beautiful statue made of basalt.
On the seashore, dominating the yellow land,
You were my statue representing the king of sand.

You were looking as if you were tattooed with smalt.
In the Red Sea, you were my lonely king of salt
And at the water's high waves' mobile horizon,
I was a blue mermaid, caught in your love's prison.

I swam to the shore, from time to time, to see you.
You're always on your ship, at the dawn's purplish-blue.
In the Red Sea, you were my lonely king of salt.
I've found your beautiful statue, made of basalt.

I paid for a change, in a need to be a woman,
Because I wanted you to be my beloved man.
You disappeared and your ship was anchored in Galt.
In the Red Sea, you are my lonely king of salt.
