Puppies Poem by KATOCH P C K PREM

Puppies

Puppies
Babus behave like puppies
and think not of dangers,
but blink and sit, and drag
lethargically pencils on the blue papers,
creating robots who stare like men
similar to buffaloes in ponds
throwing black mud around,
with a splash of strong tails and sticks
get up to nurse a repulsive frame
away from the impact
of land arid and infertile.

Inner contradictions stay on here
often are difficult to conceal and expose,
inauspicious for people
commenting on nation's pains
jostling to make headlines in crowds,
of clowns and jesters in parallel protests
pathetically pushing mucky bodies
half distorted and punctured
spines often changing to rubber.

It is a wish of death
to knead an existence coarsely
with a non-existing body
like liquefying smoke in clouds
to search time in destiny,
and rush back home quite late
sounding a loud ludicrous avowal
that a babu's intellect is for sale.
