Psalm 115 Poem by Frank McEleny

Psalm 115

May you glorify your name O Lord
And may your glory cover the land
Let every idol fall from its place
And when your finished let none of them stand

There are idols of gold and silver
They are simply the work of mens hands
They are mute and deaf and cannot see
But in your presence nothing stands

You are warm and loving and kind
Full of grace and mercy to me
Yet there's a fire that burns in the depths of hell
For those who would worship a tree

Men trust in the things that cannot save
They trust in others who are weak
When you put your trust in anything but God
You will not find what you seek
