Priceless Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Priceless

Hunger and thirst are alike
But
Hunger and thirst are not
For food or water.

Water doesn't quench the thirst
Neither
The food quench the hunger.

Then,
Why must you spend money
For what which is not bread and wine?
And labour
For that which satisfied not?

Come, o you come
Tell the hidden birds time of melody has come
Let us reason together
Everyone that is thirsting and hungry come
Come and buy bread, wine and milk
Without money and without price.

Come, o you come to the banquet
Eat and drink what which is good
And let your soul soar itself in fatness.
