Preamble To The Ramble Poem by Richard Phipps

Preamble To The Ramble

Cryptic little deceptions,
logged within my mind.
Moonlight in your eyes,
Walk always beneath clear skies.

I am you.
You are me.
We are each other.

Times change.
Things change.
I change.
You change.
Short changed.
Rearranged - deranged.

I can tell someone hurt you bad.
Took away your confidence.
Bruised your soul.
Left you wanting and so blue.

I was so blue.
I know you were too.
I wanna know your blue.
I wanna help you through.

Not blue skies,
just you skies.
Not red eyes
to make you to cry,
but bright eyes,
that make you smile.

I wanna melt into your arms.
Get blown away with your charms.
I look at you.
You look at me.
Question marks in our gaze.

Reach out your hand and let go.
Like a tightrope walker.
Soar above the ground.
Dazzle the crowd.
Beneath your feat.
Gliding overhead.

You bare your soul.
Play an awesome role.
Take a fall and get up.
Dust off life and carry on.

A day so long,
night catches up.
A night so long,
time to turn off the light.
