Prayer for a Grandchild
It is three days into the New Year.
The temperature falls
There's snow on the sleeping backs of the far Bens
I am nearing the end of my journey
Your journey calls

May the story that is yours be ever delightful
May your needs be a bucket that fills with clean springwater
May you never have too much wealth, and never too little
May you have a quiet mind, and a heart of moonbeams
May love when it comes be a harbour, a nest, song
May your footsteps never lead to the land of demons
May health be yours in abundance, flesh of my daughter

This is prayer for you, my little one
May you always walk in the kind side of the sun
