Pound By Pound Poem by Chris Newlash

Pound By Pound

Rating: 5.0

I opened up, I let you in.
I did it once, and once again.
And there you came knocking on my door,
Of course I let you back in for more.

Of course again I made the same mistake.
Of course you never put on the brake.
To stop things, to slow them down,
Just adding pressure, pound by pound.
