Poetry For Children: Lost Socks! ©

There's a goblin in my cupboard,
he eats up all my socks;
and just in case you haven't heard,
he lives in the shoe box.

He choosy and quite picky,
He has a stringent rule;
He seems to be finicky,
He eats only socks for school.

Poor Mum is at her wit's end,
She can never find a pair;
I love to drive her round the bend,
as much as I can dare!

For the time that we are searching, for that one elusive sock,
I get some time to play some more; Mum forgets about the clock!
