Poetree: Garden © Poem by Roann Mendriq

Poetree: Garden ©

The garden was a work of art,
with fragrant perfume in the air;
That filled the soul and every heart,
with flowers tumbling here and there...

Roses like red rubies gleamed,
Snowdrops sweetly raised their heads;
Daffodils like sunbursts beamed,
and Violets nestled in their beds...

Gentle Lilies, sweet Larkspur,
Two glistening golden Lotus ponds!
and Daisies nodding to confer,
on Marigolds like magic wands!

A tree stood silent in their midst,
robed in modest, quiet jade,
Hidden in the morning mist,
Blessing those within her shade...

Now, no one knew that she was crowned,
with wreaths of lilac blossoms sweet;
She laughed and shed them to the ground,
to grace the garden's pretty feet...
