Poetical Scraps Poem by Matthew Holloway

Poetical Scraps

I am all alone
No friend nor lover
no kindness within touch
a lonesome bed chamber
where even dreams
fall distant to touch
-
Goodnight sleep well
the time to fall into dreams
and the freedom they bring
is due to be realised
-
I want to die
to be free from a life
where everyday hurts
-
I dream of you
in the quiet times
I dream of our kiss
and other lustful thoughts
our naked bodies pressed together
that feel of flesh upon flesh
-
To travel and to write
to watch the scenery
the people in passing
the sounds and scents
conversations and food
freshly made coffee
-
Love feels illusive
like that dream
of touching the moon
always out of reach
never to be touched
never to be known
wake me never again
let me sleep and dream
-
I dreamt of our embrace
a union of two romances
how foolish the heart can be
when it dreams such dreams
fate if we believe in it
draws its own conclusions
an answer sheet at the ready
what could be, already is
and so to my thoughts of you
how passionate they sit
a lovers ideal offered
a dream chanced upon
-
What is the value and the cost
of kindness in all it; s forms
to hold a loving nature
