Poem Poem by Jill Alexander Essbaum

Poem

A clementine
Of inclement climate
Grows tart.

A crocus
Too stoic to open,
Won't.

Like an oyster
That cloisters a spoil of pearls,
Untouched—

The heart that's had
Enough
Stays shut.
