Plasticity Poem by Ima Ryma

Plasticity

Rating: 5.0

We both grew up in time and place
When plastic be in massive use
By most all of the human race,
Leading to pollution abuse.
We two did meet in a protest
For a cleaner environment,
Became a couple feeling blessed
That lives of true love would be spent.
Then the two of us grew apart,
But stayed together for kids' sake,
Slowly breaking each other's heart,
Both knowing that we now were fake.

We are a plastic couple who
Pretend the love we show is true.

Absolutely brilliant poetic expression of life entangled in fake relationships, pollution, plastics.
