Pillow Talk Poem by Mark (Owen) Williams

Pillow Talk

Lovers at the break of dawn swop stories of the night now gone
Over coffee mixed with shots of wine rejoicing in their wonder time
As the excitement of elicit nights comes through and fast – free flowing…

Their love still fresh warms empty sheets once tossed and turned now left complete
Voice platitudes their pillow said false words of “love” within the bed
As sunlight bursts through cloudy blinds to cleanse last night’s emotion…

The “I love you” they did not mean those whispered words for love unclean
This master now make all the rules in love and bed for all the fools
For he who seeks to break the law alas – such words – unspoken…

Unsaid – Unread – Unspoken

False words of “love” dispelled by day as pillow talk soon fades away
And the reality of the present sinks into the minds of those who think
Lustily for the next hot girl there moving on the dance floor…

They never let love be their slave for sex alone is what they crave
To wake up with new loves at dawn and sing again that falsehood song
For true pillow talk lasts just as long – as one daybreak…

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Pillow Talk is about the rules of sex - as opposed to the rules of love
