Philosophy Dreams Of The Rose
apprehension stops and starts
comprehension knows
just in simple reverie
contemplate the rose
being is believing
the rose itself to be
just as soul unfolds each whorl
in flower and in leaves
patient fragrance heaven lent
each petal in repose
as Rilke noted well enough
pure essence, not a pose.
