Perplexity Poem by S.W. Clark

Perplexity

Vows despaired by frivolous pursuits,
have drawn the dreamers apart
from desired embraces to daunting enchantments
the weight has torn the heart.
How loves are lost
when promises are made.
How great is the cost
after all hopes fade.
To be withheld to hold,
yet feeling so cold.
What is truly the immoral wrong
that vows be forsaken
'cause the other has taken
to not love you as life is long.
