Perplexed Poem by Sandra Feldman

Perplexed

If we are truly human
How could we want to harm others?
Weren't we once told,
We were, indeed,
Like brothers?
I am forever perplexed
By the pain we inflict
On one another
When it is so much better,
If we cultivate the flowers
We can later love and gather.
