Pebbles And Dust Poem by joyjit sengupta

Pebbles And Dust

They made some quick money
It was cash and carry
Selling pebbles and dust

Goods once sold
Cannot be taken back
The poster on the wall said

They had simple terms
Of warranty
We sell at no risk
You buy at yours

When you buy trash
Paying in cash
We believe
You help in building
The economy

Soon you shall find us
On every street
Selling pebbles and dust
And some more trash

To decorate your
Lives and homes
With your pride
And vanity

Like shadows in a dream
Remote and extinct
Yet much more real
Than your reality

We are open 24 x 7
Selling the same stuff
On every street.
