Pathetic Pretense Poem by Jon Edward Walker

Pathetic Pretense

Rating: 5.0

I pretend I’m in love with you
I need someone
I’m crazy reckless when I’m alone
when I’m talking to your eyes
I pretend like they care,
are interested
and when I hold you I pretend
your not cold
when I wake up
I make a banana smoothie
and throw my heart in the blender
before I get back in bed with you
and I pretend
you think it tastes good
