Paras Poem by Parvati Pradnya

Paras

Sweet November day,
I saw you for the first time
Black tee and plain jeans,
blue guitar in tow
I was weary, feeling low
Unsure of the night ahead
In the sea of strangers
Drifting without care
But my eyes never left you
Still standing there,
Caressing the strings,
Petting new friends,
I just wished the night would stay
When I heard you play,

I don't want to end this night
Don't want to let you go away
Want to reach out my hand, but
you stand shrouded in the light
And all I can do is say,
"Please don't go away
Stay a little longer,
Make more music for my heart
It beats a little stronger
When it hears you play...
Don't stop playing the music
I can feel your love in it
I can feel your heart beat in it"

When your fingers kiss the strings,
Your passion, it reverberates
through the chill of the night,
Admist the blinding lights,
Too far away to touch,
just close enough to claim

Till the music stopped
I flitted through the dream,
Then you had to go away
And all I did was say,
"Farewell, new love
I hope we meet again
You, with the guitar,
and I, with the dream
maybe, in the rain?
Farewell, new love
till we meet again."
