Painful Awakening Poem by Sandra Feldman

Painful Awakening

Reaching out for comfort,
When there is none,
When a Loved One is gone.

Deeply searching for answers,
When there are none,
'A better place', 'Out of Misery',
Do not console, do not control,
The feeling of emptiness,
That drowns the soul,
That will always follow,
For the rest of your life,
A forever place left, hollow,
As you realize you're now alone.

I agree. It's very hard to lose someone you love and there are no good words to fix that. And yes, there is a forever place that's hollow. You can't tap into it everyday for health and sanity, but it's there nonetheless. If you're writing/thinking about someone specific, I am sorry for your loss...

Wow! very deep and poignant. My mother's birthday was yesterday. She has been dead for 40 years. Every year on that date is a painful awakening
