Pain Hurts Poem by Lei Strauss

Pain Hurts

Suddenly my sleeping soul woke up
Amidst of gentle night where sheep
started to jump over the moon.
Then it happened when a sting
struck in my legs causing pain
that ran so deep in my flesh.
Nobody was around to see my eyes
sobbing while clock ran too fast.
This unknown pain continuously
killing my body until her instinct
woke her up to caress my agony
The fragility inside me started to step out
My soul was determined to stand up
For I knew that its taste was tentative
So I needed to get over the torture
Trying to be strong not for myself
But for the people who love me
As I looked to her merciful eyes
It never failed to uphold my spirit
When she touched the portion of my pain
It was a cure that ran through my veins
A gradual relief was felt till I closed my eyes
Finally got my good night sleep
The last thing that marked the moment most
It was not the pain nor losing the time to sleep
But it was her sweet kiss - a mother's kiss.
