Like a young tree
Planted in the early stages of life
Strong but, still gentle
Leaves bright with hope
Small roots
Eager to expand
Reaching for nourishment
Embedding themselves in fertile soil

Our Love
Has branched out
Spreading its roots
Co-mingled with dreams and hopes
Emotional ropes of a shared life

This day, and every day
Is a good time to reflect on our symbiosis
Our mutuality and inter-dependence
Happiness and sadness we’ve shared

Moments yet to come
Unfold in ticking time

How comforting to know we have each other
Reaching for nourishment and growth
We are indeed on “The Path”
A far reaching road

May this path be long, and mixed with the nutrients of our souls
May we continue to create ever growing limbs, and cherish the strength we derive from them

On this day, and every day to come,
May we share the beats of our hearts, and remain richly in love
