Other You Poem by Hanan Muzafar

Other You

Greatness comes at the cost of suffering,
and sacrifice;
while most question, Is it worth?
I see beyond,
Your being doesn't corrode,
you know yourself, more than others do;
Most people don't know their purpose,
you know, For what you stood up:
Take stand, and walk on your own.
Their lives stay stuck, caught,
and thinking it's a blessing;
Their love and families,
which they consider a strength,
becomes their ultimate weakness.
They do what please others,
and what please them;
It takes courage to take up the cross,
or build an ark, on the face of adversary:
What you've done for yourself?
