Some simple words of mine
Come from thoughts within;
They don't touch the heart,
The mind and soul of men.
Though the lines and words
Speak in meter and rhyme;
The sense is not enough
To make it so sublime.
Yes, words are down-to-earth,
So easy to understand;
But it won't earn a place
Among great poems in the land.
It isn't unusual or fancy,
Neither complex nor special;
But it comes from the heart
Of a poet without pedestal.
Expecting not any rate and praise
From each and every one of them;
I only love to pen and share
My ordinary poem.

Brilliant, Bernard. Perhaps the words are ordinary, but in combination they form a meaning that is truly transcendental. This is an absolutely brilliant verse!
