Open Up The Gate Poem by John McCornack

Open Up The Gate

Ice and snow mark the arrival of this new year
But my car is filled with gasoline. What a thrill
So I am anxiously awaiting to start my journey
Now I must find a red dirt road and go over the hill

And tomorrow I shall continue on this red dirt road
With my digital camera laying close to my hand
And if God is willing and the south creek don’t rise
I will be photographing new places in this great land

Well crafted poem. Full of optimism. I like it.
