Onslaught Poem by Melissa Joy Chesky

Onslaught

You threw it away,
And it made my heart sigh in discontent.
You brushed it off,
And it made me clench my throat.
You disregarded it,
And it made me tremor in frustration.

You threw ME away
And I wish I could care less
You brushed ME off
And I wish it didn’t kill me
You disregarded ME
And I wish I could catch the onslaught of tears.
