Only Make-Believe Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Only Make-Believe

A painful goodbye entered life today
When his young fairy queen left the scene.
The garden of springtime lacked floral array
He had lost the heaven that might have been.

There would be no more words of misleading deceit
He doubted the affair from the start...
Never again would their pathways meet
On a foolish romance of the heart.
