Slowly
we walk
hand to hand
heart to heart
becoming one
as we open them to one another
truths untold
lies forgotten
as we seek what the other offers
comfort
talent
life
and joy
many things go untouched
as we stand before each other
staring
awestruck
at the past behind us
and the future ahead
of what might come to be
as i look at you
you look at me
eye to eye
we meet
waiting
for those last words of wisdom
of happiness
of unforgotten memories
as we hear the two that mean the most
to finish our journey
because that one last step
is you.
