On The Passing Of Sean Fay Poem by Francis Duggan

On The Passing Of Sean Fay

It is with great sadness I recall the big hearted one Sean Fay
Only in his early fifties in June 05 of heart failure he passed away
At 4.30 a m he rose from bed for work each working day
And he was one who always had to work hard for his pay.

To his devoted wife Josephine and their children his is a tragic loss
The cross they've been given to bear is such a heavy cross
But life it has it's ups and downs so often we've been told
And some die young and not so young and some live to be old.

Though far from his old home in Devlin in Westmeath his bones will forever lay
'Tis with great fondness his many friends will recall the likeable Sean Fay
The accent that he brought with him to his Nationality a give away
Until the last breath he did take with the great man did stay

He will live on in his children and in the heart of Josephine his good wife
And though for each and everyone of us death is one guarantee in life
And though from his home in Bayswater he is forever gone
In the thoughts of his many friends and family Sean Fay he will live on.
